Art History & Painting and Drawing

With a passion for Modern and Contemporary Art, Livy Onalee Snyder is graduating in 2019 with a BFA in Painting and Drawing as well as BA Art History, preparing her to fulfill her aspiration to work internationally as an independent curator. Her BA Thesis research focuses on the representations of wellness culture in contemporary video and installation art.

Her achievements include internships at the Black Cube Nomadic Museum, the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice, Italy, the Denver Art Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. She is also a gallery assistant at the Emmanuel Gallery. In 2018 she was awarded the University of Colorado UROP Grant to create an exhibition for the RTD light rail system in the theme of the Anthropocene. Her paper, “Popular Culture of Health and Wellness in Contemporary Art” was selected for inclusion at the 2019 Southwest Popular Culture Association Conference.

Livy plans to apply for a graduate degree program abroad. Her hope is to follow the vein of experimental art, invest her time in works she truly believes to be innovating, and learn more about the operation of the foundation as a construct.
